Clore Learning Centre

In October 2014 we opened our dedicated centre for people of all ages to get hands-on, practical experience of theatre-making.

The Clore Learning Centre brings dedicated educational spaces to the heart of the National Theatre for the first time.

People of all ages including families, primary and secondary schools, young people and adults, are offered a remarkable range of learning opportunities, from workshops and talks to in-depth courses and training programmes.

The programme enables National Theatre audiences to engage more deeply with the breadth of our work, from new plays to the world-class skills of our production and technical departments. It also opens up the National to new audiences, inspiring young people, developing skills, opportunities and aspirations, and supporting a new generation of theatre makers. In the year from 1 October 2014, we ran 893 education sessions at the NT and a further 480 across the UK. In total, over 45,000 people participated directly in the NT Learning programme, gaining insight into our productions and learning more about theatre and theatre-making.
